Q: What is the difference between Bayview CD & BayView Net?

A:  BayView CD - The indexed images reside on the CD. The viewer, which can be installed on a PC or embedded on each CD, is used to search for and retrieve the images.  BayNet - An image archive hosted on an internal network. Users access their archived data through the viewer, from their PC.  BayNet is available as a secure, permission based version as well. 


Q: When printing, the image is not the right size. Why?

A:
First, make sure your printer setting reads "fit to page." Then, make sure you have the latest printer driver (downloadable from the printer manufacturer's Web site). You may need to download and install latest patch for BayView Net/BayView CD.


Q: CD installer attempted an auto-install but it didn't complete. How can I fix this?

A: Go to "My Computer" and find the CD-Rom drive. Right click and open drive. Find Setup.EXE and double click. This allows you to manually install the CD.


Q: Why did I get a “Failed to initialize Jet/DB Engine” or similar error?

A: During installation or program execution the following message may be displayed for BayView CD. [Error Message] “Failed to initialize Jet/DB Engine” or similar error. Windows versions: Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows ME

To correct:

  1. Restart computer in MS-DOS mode.
  2. Change directory "cd\Windows\System".
  3. Rename the following dll’s with the a .bak extension:
    • MSVCRT.DLL
    • MSVCIRT.DLL
    • MSVCRT40.DLL

    [Commands]

    • "Rename MSVCRT.DLL MSVCRT.BAK",
    • "Rename MSVIRT.DLL MSVIRT.BAK",
    • "Rename MSVCRT40.DLL MSVCRT40.BAK".
  4. Restart Windows.
  5. Re-install Bay CD.


Q: Why can I only print first page? Subsequent pages are blank.

A: BayView versions: BayView CD and BayView NET pre 4.0.012 & Windows versions: Windows 95/98/ME and Windows NT/2000/XP : You may need to download and install the latest patch for BayView Net/BayView CD.


Q: How do I download a new Patch?

A: When downloading a new patch, BayView must be closed down in order for the patch to complete. Do not have it running in the background while downloading patch. Make sure your current version BayView matches the new patch ex.(v. 4.07 to v. 4.13)


Q: How can I perform a Wildcard search?

A:  To perform a wildcard search use the * symbol to replace the character(s) that are variable. For example, to search for "text" or "test" you can use the search: te*t
